About Matthew
I am a working actor, director, and fight director with experience across film, television, and theater. My work focuses on creating honest, grounded performances that connect with audiences, and I bring that same approach into my teaching.
I’ve worked both in front of and behind the camera, which allows me to guide students not just in performance, but in understanding how actors are viewed by directors, casting, and production teams. This perspective helps students develop practical, industry-ready skills that go beyond theory.
As a teacher, I’m focused on helping each student grow at their own pace while building confidence, discipline, and a strong foundation in craft.

My lessons are designed to help actors build confidence, sharpen technique, and deliver authentic, grounded performances for both stage and screen. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced performer, I tailor each session to your individual goals, whether that’s preparing for auditions, improving on-camera skills, or developing strong character work.
I focus on practical, working techniques used in today’s film and television industry, including script analysis, emotional connection, scene study, and self-tape preparation. Lessons are hands-on and supportive, with real-time feedback and adjustments so you can see immediate improvement.
Beyond performance, I also help students understand the professional side of acting, auditions, set etiquette, and how to approach the industry with confidence. My goal is to create a focused, encouraging environment where you can take risks, grow quickly, and feel fully prepared for real opportunities.
