About Suzanna
I have taught drawing and painting in subjects such as portraiture, life drawing, still life and landscapes for the last thirteen years. The main mediums I teach are graphite, chalk pastels, water colors, acrylics and oil paints. I have worked with ages ranging from 16 to 75, on a one-to-one basis and in groups, from beginners to advanced abilities. These have ran as part of leisure courses by the Adult Education Center, Art Access courses at Cornwall College, and also my own evening classes, as well as working with art societies as a visiting artist , and giving private tuition. I have been working as a professional practicing artist for the last twenty years, during which, I studied a BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree at Falmouth University, as well a PGCE and an MA in 20th Century, Art & Design, History & Theories also at Falmouth University.

I am a down to earth creative person, with extensive knowledge within fine art drawing, painting and art history. I like to share this knowledge and encourage others to develop their artistic skills. I structure the lessons around my students abilities, aims, preferred subjects and mediums. As well as encourage and support individual exploration to enhance personal artistic development. I teach drawing and painting techniques in a structured manor, through demonstrations, hand outs, discussions and individual support, in aid of encompassing most learning styles. I focus on one particular technique at a time, such as measuring, tone, composition and colour theory, with the aim of developing a deeper understanding of the structure behind drawing and painting. I feel this allows for more freedom of individual artistic expression.
