I’m James, a professional bass player, educator, and session musician based in Peterborough, UK.
I’ve built my career on delivering solid, professional bass playing in both live and studio settings, working across multiple bands and genres.
I perform regularly with multiple bands, bringing pocket, musicality, and presence to every performance.
My playing is shaped by legends like James Jamerson, Pino Palladino, Marcus Miller, and Jaco Pastorius. Whether on stage or in the studio, I focus on precision, feel, and knowing exactly what the music needs.

I work with students of all ages, some with nearly 50 years between them, and provide clear progression plans, weekly digital resources, and tailored 1:1 sessions.
My goal is simple: to make my students better musicians as efficiently as possible.
I offer in person lessons and online Zoom lessons with high quality audio and video equipment.
