About Michael

I am a professional, credentialed, licensed math teacher and tutor. I have been working with students since 2007 and have helped countless students in that time. It's such a thrill watching them go off to the most prestigious universities and knowing I have been a part of their journey.

About the lesson

"Teaching approach" has many answers. When I am tutoring, the first question is whether the student has anything that needs to be done right away because it is due very soon. After that I move into what the student learned in their most recent class period. After answering any questions and doing as much practice as necessary for this new material I move into what I know the next topic will be. This allows the student to go to their next class with a leg up on the material, allowing them to not be afraid of the new material and hopefully even participate in the classroom discussion covering this new material. It is very validating for a student when they go to class ready to learn and already know what's going on!
