About Joanna
I am a Masters Landscape Architecture graduate from the University of Sheffield and currently work full-time within a professional landscape architecture practice. I am passionate about creative design, graphics and helping students build confidence in both their technical and creative abilities. Having recently completed my studies and entered the industry professionally, I understand the challenges students face throughout university, portfolio preparation and early career development.
My experience combines both academic and professional practice, allowing me to offer guidance that is creative, constructive and industry focused. I enjoy helping students develop their design ideas, improve presentation work and strengthen the quality of their portfolios. I understand how important confidence and clear communication are within creative subjects and aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable sharing ideas and asking questions.
Alongside landscape architecture, I also have experience in graphics, visual presentation and creative design communication. I can support students with portfolio reviews, presentation layouts, concept development, graphic communication and general creative feedback. My teaching style is friendly, approachable and tailored to each individual student depending on what they would like help with.
I wanted to begin tutoring because I know how valuable guidance and mentorship can be during university and early professional stages. Design education can often feel overwhelming, and I hope to provide students with practical advice, constructive feedback and encouragement that helps them progress with confidence. Whether students are looking for help improving a project, preparing a portfolio or gaining insight into the creative industry, I aim to provide lessons that are engaging, supportive and beneficial to their personal development
