About Felipe
Hello! My name is Felipe and I am the perfect tutor for you if you need help with physics and math! You see, if you are struggling, most certainly it's not your fault. You most likely are not being taught these topics correctly and find them really boring or abstract. I'm here to rectify that. I graduated from the University of Toronto's engineering program and have over 10 years of experience working in various engineering consulting firms. This includes highly technical roles that require learning and teaching new concepts to other engineers. I've also been the mentor of various junior engineers throughout this past decade. Beyond engineering, I'm a highly passionate tutor with over 20 years of experience. I started tutoring in high school, and I've kept at it since then. The reason is that I find helping students succeed in math and science a very rewarding experience. Our society needs more people who are math and physics literate. I have lots of experience teaching high school and university students (that's most likely you). I've helped many high school students get better grades in math and physics. I am a native Spanish speaker and I speak and write French with native proficiency (been speaking it since I was 6). So I can offer math and physics tutoring in French or Spanish if that suits you better!

For over 20 years, I have tutored students from different backgrounds and levels. I started tutoring while in high school and found that helping students achieve their academic goals was a highly rewarding experience. As such, I've kept on tutoring (and honing my skills as a tutor) throughout my University life and my 10-year professional engineering career. I've taught and mentored junior staff at the engineering firms where I've worked, I've taught elementary and high school students in Japan where the language barrier was a challenge, and I've taught high school and university students in Toronto seeking to improve their grades. This diverse experience sets me apart from most people: I've learned to adapt to the student at hand. I will be able to help you improve your physics and math grades, whether you are a high school or university student. Further, I can offer tutoring services in French and Spanish as well if that suits your needs better. My lesson plans go beyond just following the textbook. Many times, students struggle because they do not understand a prior concept. In those instances, I'll first focus on making sure you understand the fundamentals before moving on to more complex topics. Whenever appropriate, I like to use media such as videos and photos to help the student visualize (and thus better understand) complex and abstract topics. I will show you how engineers apply physics and math concepts to build and design things. This makes the topic be more interesting, which I find key. I also help students improve their time management skills when it comes to finishing their homework and successfully completing their exams. These are skills that go beyond understanding the topic at hand but are very important. They will make you a better student and professional. Finally, I'm highly passionate about physics and math. I hope to instill this passion and make you love science and physics. A true understanding and appreciation of these topics will be very useful later down in life.

Felipe was my supervisor when I was a co-op student. He taught me traffic and acoustic modeling concepts, and also provided extremely valuable mentorship that has helped me significantly in my career. He supervised my work on complex projects and his explanations are very thorough. He is very patient and always optimistic which makes him an excellent teacher.
Felipe is a phenomenal tutor. He has a unique ability to break down problems into its subcomponents to help students/colleagues not feel overwhelmed by the problem at hand. Felipe was able to teach me traffic engineering concepts and softwares even though I had minimal exposure in the industry. Moreover, Felipe demonstrated his passion while teaching a group about technical noise engineering theories and methodologies. He communicates his thought process very effectively and tailors his teaching style based on the students needs and desires.
I am Japanese and was Felipe’s student in Japan when I was in junior high school. I had his English class and practiced English conversation and writing with him after school. It was the first time for me to talk to an English speaker but he made learning English fun and always motivated me to learn. He made my school life fun and exciting. I am very lucky to have him as my first English teacher and could improve my English a lot with his help. I highly recommend you all to have his classes because he is such an amazing teacher!
Felipe is an excellent teacher; he has assisted me on numerous occasions, and he is incredibly polite and patient; if I don't comprehend a concept, Felipe will find various ways to help me understand it, as well as adapt to my preferred method of learning, which in my case is visual. Felipe has greatly supported me in my studies and assisted me in identifying my strengths and recognizing my weaknesses in order to help me overcome them. Felipe also assisted me in determining strategies to widen my knowledge and improve my study methods.
