About Francesca
I hold an English Literature degree from the University of Sheffield, having achieved an Upper Second Class Honours in the subject. I've been giving lessons for 6 years now, and during this time I have helped students nail their A Levels, GCSEs and 11+ English and Creative Writing exams. I also have practical work experience as a Teaching Assistant and a Nanny, where I helped younger children build their literacy and reading skills.

I offer engaging, tailored lessons in English and Creative Writing for students preparing for 11+ exams, GCSEs, SATs, and A Levels. I also support adult learners and children aged 4–18 in reading comprehension and literature. My focus is on developing analytical skills, boosting confidence, and ensuring students feel prepared for any challenges they may face.
With five years of teaching experience, I’ve helped students achieve top grades and secure places at prestigious schools like King Edward VI School and Reading School, as well as top universities including Oxford, Cambridge, and other Russell Group institutions.
My approach is student-centered. I encourage active discussion, critical thinking, and an open-minded approach to literature. I take the time to understand each student’s learning style and interests, making lessons interactive, effective, and enjoyable. After all, literature is all about interpretation, and I want my students to feel confident exploring different perspectives.
Each lesson includes personalised targets that we’ll review together, helping to track progress and build confidence. I also provide homework to reinforce learning and support exam preparation.
