About Cathy
With more than 19 years of experience, I am a passionate Flute tutor teaching School, College, and working professional students. I enjoy helping students explore music in a structured and enjoyable way.
My tutoring style is supportive and student-centred. I focus on correct breathing techniques, tone development, finger coordination, rhythm control, and musical expression. I adapt lessons according to each student’s level and learning speed.
In addition to flute training, I teach related subjects such as music theory, notation reading, sight reading, rhythm exercises, and ear training. I also assist students with exam preparation and performance skills.
My unique strength is my ability to explain concepts in a simple and friendly way. I motivate students to practise regularly and guide them with clear goals. My aim is to help students become confident flute players who enjoy learning music.

My flute teaching methodology is based on clear communication, creative practice, and flexible learning. I believe music education should be easy to understand and enjoyable for every student.
Communication helps students learn with confidence. I explain flute techniques in simple words and demonstrate them clearly. I encourage students to ask questions and share their difficulties. Regular feedback helps students improve step by step.
Creativity makes lessons engaging. I use creative warm-ups, rhythm exercises, and enjoyable music pieces. I focus on tone quality, musical expression, and phrasing so students can play with feeling and confidence.
Flexibility allows lessons to match individual needs. I adjust lesson pace and content based on student progress and goals. Lessons can focus on exam preparation, performance training, or hobby learning.
Flute lessons include breathing techniques, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, articulation, scales, rhythm, and sight reading. I emphasise strong basics and healthy playing habits.
In addition to flute, I teach related subjects such as music theory, note reading, rhythm training, ear training, and performance skills.
