About Neil
I have been teaching since I graduated from the Guildhall School of Music in July 1987. I have taught all standards from beginner to advanced, and all ages from 4 years to adult. When I graduated from College I did solo recitals in Yorkshire and freelanced with the Bradford Chamber Orchestra and played in many shows. In 1989 I joined the Scarborough Spa Orchestra which was good fun. In 1990 I moved to Ireland where I played Rank and File Viola with the R.T.E. National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland and during my time there I did 2 trials with the Ulster and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras. In 1994 I moved to the West Midlands to join a string quartet and now freelance and teach in the Midlands and sometimes beyond.

I always have a very positive approach to teaching and I encourage students to do their best. I start off with warm up rhythms, exercises, then scales , then pieces. I am prepared to teach all standards and all ages from 4 years to adults. I always tell them the good things they have done, then the things that could be better. I make pupils feel special and give them very positive reasons to why they are having lessons.
