About Maria
In my early youth I attended the music high school “Schloss Belvedere”, devoted myself to solo piano playing and chamber music, and was a multiple national prize winner in the “Jugend musiziert” competition. Then I studied at the “University of the Arts Berlin” and at the “Sibelius Academy” Helsinki with the degree “Pedagogical Diploma” and then completed the “Artistic Diploma” in piano at the “University of Music, Drama and Media” in Hanover . From the beginning of my studies to this day, I have been teaching both children and young people as well as adults from the beginner level to preparing for music studies and music students. Due to my great interest in further musical impulses and pedagogical paths, I took up the "Master's degree in improvisation" in Leipzig, with the main focus on solo, film and group improvisation, improvisation methodology, composition and jazz harmony teaching. In addition, I attended master classes “improvisation” and “jazz” and acquired a further training certificate for “music pedagogical work with people with disabilities” in instrumental lessons (psychological / pedagogical knowledge for physical limitations, autism, etc.).
In addition, I studied "piano song design" at the Karlsruhe University of Music, at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris "and" piano concert exam "at the Saar University of Music. In addition to my ongoing teaching activity, I have coached opera and lied repertoire in several singing classes at music academies and worked artistically with various singers from the Saarland State Theater, among others.
For several years I was a pianist in the Rias Youth Orchestra Berlin. In numerous master classes I supplemented my solo training, received chamber music impulses in various formations from piano trio to piano quintet and enriched the artistic work in the "Lied Duo" in the classical song repertoire as well as in the field of chanson.
During my studies I received a scholarship from various foundations and received, among other things, the “Germany Scholarship”. As a soloist, in various chamber music ensembles and as a lied duo, I have given concerts in Bayreuth, Dresden, Berlin (Konzerthaus Berlin, “Berliner Philharmonie” with live recordings by Deutschlandradio Kultur), Luxembourg, Helsinki, Saarbrücken and Paris.
From The many artistic-pedagogical experiences of my course of study and the many years of teaching activity give me new impulses again and again and I take great pleasure in passing on my knowledge and supporting my students musically.

Professional and lively online piano lessons for advanced learners - children, young people, adults - by a trained pianist and longstanding piano teacher.
The focus is on making music, working on expression and sound combined with a lot of musicality! I according to the personal wishes and goals of my students. It is very important to me to convey a lot of joy in music and to find the right balance between the joy of playing and concentration during the learning process. I always develop good and solid piano technique in connection with great musicality.
One focus of my lessons is working on sound with its different facets in order to express the individual character of the respective pieces of different stylistic epochs. When selecting the piano pieces, I always take into account the wishes and musical tastes of the students and also look for repertoire that is based on the students' respective abilities. In addition to my specialist knowledge, I consider friendly communication at eye level, patience, a dose of humor and enthusiasm as a fundamental basis for teaching. I try to respond to the personality and the challenges of the student and to support the respective learning pace of my students. As my experience shows, this has a positive side effect, especially for children. They feel so caught up and taken seriously and develop a great deal of personal responsibility in their tasks on the piano.
Knowledge of music theory and music history are integrated into the lessons.
In addition, the student can work creatively with me on their own improvisations and develop their own compositions. In doing so, I would like to promote the ability to express themselves and the development of their own creative potential.
My lessons are aimed at advanced students of all ages and interested parties who want to prepare for an entrance exam for teaching school music or for studying piano at a music college .
I have gained a lot of experience with online piano lessons, including very good technical equipment. I use several camera perspectives including 4K video resolution and the sound is transmitted through a very good microphone. Thus, a new way has opened up, on which I would like to accompany people with their piano playing and to pass on the joy of music to them.
