About Juan
I'm a professional photojournalist based in Colombia, but currently living in Washington DC until May. I have covered riots, natural disasters, internal displacement, travel, and conflict for different media outlets and wires around the world.
Also, I've had the opportunity of speaking at different conferences at universities and photo-festivals.
I've been teaching photography for two years to private students as we can work their agenda and mine to make the most of the amazing privilege of learning.

My teaching method a mix of practice, review, and academic lectures. Is easy to take a good image, but is different to make a good photo.
We approach the technical aspects of photography with lectures, and some practical exercises, mixing storytelling, journalism, and photography. So our lesson time, we can review this work, understand how it works, why it works, and according to each story how could we improve it.
