About Deepkaran
I am a young, established Software Engineer holding BASc degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. I have 4 years of professional work experience. I started off at Amazon, stayed there for 2 years and am also a Google L3 SWE offer holder. I currently work at a top Hedge fund in NYC building software for Electronic Trading Systems that handle trillions of dollars of flow every week. I have been in this role for about 2 years now. I love mentoring and teaching people about the things I have been blessed to learn, and find great fulfillment in helping folks achieve their full potential. Fun fact: I was about to get my Master's in Quantum Information Processing but switched to full time SWE last minute :)

My teaching methodologies are based on drawing connections between software applied in the real world and the theoretical concepts being taught in order to invoke passion in the students. Having worked for a FAANG company for 2 years and being currently employed at a hedge fund as a Software Engineer, I can provide real insights into the knowledge and skills required to "make it" in this profession. This includes teaching the fundamentals of Computer Science, System Design, Data structures and algorithms. What really sets me apart is that I'm offering mentoring services and willing to coach young engineers and students on various aspects of building a fulfilling career in this profession. This includes me teaching how to efficiently job hunt and prepare for interviews, once the mentee is ready. I am personally doing this because I love teaching and sharing knowledge that can improve the lives of people around me.
