About Teenam

I am a passionate and dedicated mathematics educator with a strong commitment to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics among students. With [insert number] years of teaching experience, I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems creatively, and develop confidence in their mathematical abilities. My teaching philosophy is centered on conceptual understanding, active learning, and student-centered instruction. I believe that mathematics is not just about numbers and formulas but about patterns, reasoning, and real-world application. I aim to make abstract concepts accessible by using visual aids, technology, and real-life examples that resonate with learners of all levels. In the classroom, I employ a variety of teaching methods—including the Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) approach, collaborative learning, differentiated instruction, and formative assessments—to ensure that each student receives the support they need to succeed. I also incorporate digital tools like Desmos, GeoGebra, and online learning platforms to enhance engagement and interactivity. Beyond the classroom, I continuously seek professional development opportunities and stay updated with the latest educational practices and curriculum standards. My goal is to inspire students not only to excel in mathematics academically but also to see its value and beauty in everyday life.

About the lesson

1. Conceptual Understanding First
Focus on why a concept works, not just how to do it.

Use real-world examples: e.g., fractions with pizza, algebra with patterns, geometry with architecture.

Visual aids like number lines, graphs, and area models help solidify abstract ideas.

Goal: Build deep understanding before moving into rote practice.
Concrete → Pictorial → Abstract (CPA) Approach

Concrete: Use manipulatives (blocks, coins, etc.) for hands-on learning.

Pictorial: Move to drawings or diagrams (bar models, number lines).

Abstract: Finally, represent with numbers and symbols.

️ This method is especially powerful in early and middle years.
