About Moriah
I've had about 15 years of intensive art training, including at the university level, and I graduated at the top of my class from the prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. I've been featured in numerous galleries and both print and online publications, and won awards for my work at Maryland Institute College of Art.
I've been working with students for the past 7 years, in various roles including as a summer program coordinator, a private art teacher, and a private in-home tutor.

My name is Moriah Smith, and I’m an art, reading, and early childhood tutor here in Dallas! I specialize in private lessons and tutoring for ages 3-10. I have experience working with learning differences, including dyslexia and ADHD, as well as kids on the autism spectrum.
I have extensive, full-time experience working with young children in childcare and academic settings. Working with struggling young readers, budding artists, and preschoolers are my favorite areas to tutor, and my students have seen a lot of success after working with me! I draw from Montessori and phono-graphix methods as I collaborate with you and your child to create a customized program that works for them. For my art lessons, I create my own projects based on age, interest, and experience. I always aim to foster my students’ self-esteem and self-confidence as well as their skills!

I've taken every top art class, portfolio class, and enrichment program in Dallas since I was a child, and I believe that even the most expensive class with the most prestige can't compete with the one-on-one attention that private lessons offer. I'm pleased to be able to provide that option to everyone, even if the "investment" classes are out of your price range.
I offer tutoring and private lessons for students ages 3 through adult, and private art classes with up to 10 students per class. I also offer portfolio classes to prepare your student to apply to an art school at the high school or university level. I create my own curriculum, tailored to your priorities and interests, and can work with you when it comes to scheduling.
