About Adam

Hi, I’m Adam, a Computer Science graduate and experienced maths and computer science tutor. I graduated with First Class Honours in BSc Computer Science and achieved an A* in A-Level Computer Science. I’ve tutored GCSE and A-Level students for 5 years, both through online platforms and privately. I believe confidence comes from practice and understanding, so I break topics into small, clear steps and track progress along the way. I genuinely enjoy programming, and I love helping people go from “I don’t get it” to writing working code. I keep lessons relaxed and friendly while staying focused on your goals.

About the lesson

Every lesson is tailored to you, and follows a simple structure:

1. Find your level. We start by working out where you are with Programming, whether that’s complete beginner, comfortable with the basics, or ready for more advanced work. I’ll ask about your goals and give you a few short exercises to check what you already know.

2. Build step by step. From there, I’ll teach the concepts you need in a sensible order, from core ideas like variables, loops and functions through to data structures such as lists, dictionaries, stacks, queues and trees, depending on your level. Each one comes with clear explanations and live coding examples.

3. Learn to apply it. Knowing what a data structure is isn’t enough, so I show you when and why to use each one, and how to solve real problems with it.

4. Practise with custom exercises. I create exercises designed around your level and goals, so you write code yourself and check you truly understand it, not just follow along.

5. Revisit. In future lessons I’ll set short challenges on earlier topics so that what you learn sticks.

The result is steady, visible progress and the confidence to write and understand code on your own.
