About Mankaran

I am a Psychology Student, however a large passion of mine is dedicated to the subject of English and Maths, in which I was able to achieve a 9 and 8 in my English Literature and Language GCSE's respectively. I have experience teaching Year 2 and 7 students to read and interpret text, and I have been doing this for several years now.

I have 1-year tutoring experience in English language and reading.
• Tested and tracked ability using a software called 'Accelerated Reader' to review students’ progress, and assess any weaknesses.
• Understood the capacity and pace of the student, and tailored lessons accordingly to their style of learning.
• Used a variety of resources, including the dictionary, to ensure familiarity with longer, more complex vocabulary.
• Approach to teaching is based on focusing on any areas of weakness, to ensure success and understanding across all topics of the subject, as well as using different methods of learning for maximum retention of information.
• Most importantly, to provide lessons which are engaging and fun for students, so that they are excited to learn.

About the lesson

My teaching method involves a proactive approach to learning, in which the student is always engaged in each lesson. I use a variety of teaching methods, including flashcards, and games to really involve my students. I give lessons to students in primary all the way to the latter years of secondary school, as I have experience in this, being a University degree student myself. I am a fun, enthusiastic tutor, who will give her upmost best to ensure that my students achieve the best grades possible.
