Alexandra is an excellent teacher in art and photography. She completed her masters at University of the Arts London (UAL) with an outstanding project and creative approach, and has gone on to complete further studies and work in formal teaching. She is eminently qualified and would be an asset to any staff team. I would fully recommend her!

Alexandra Vacaroiu was a PGCE Art and Design student at Goldsmiths during the year 2016/17. She successfully completed her first school experience in an academy for girls in East Dulwich and her second school placement in Holy Cross School in New Malden. Her attendance and punctuality to the schools was excellent. Alexandra built excellent relationships with staff and students alike.
Alexandra showed she is able to establish excellent relationships with pupils and has a genuine concern with their achievement. Alexandra is a very accomplished photographer and this informed some of her planning and teaching. Alexandra’s lesson planning is thorough and well considered to meet the needs of all pupils. She is able to challenge and motivate pupils by selecting activities which are appropriate for their strengths and needs.
I observed Alexandra teach a Year 7 lesson during her first placement. I was impressed by her excellent subject knowledge, inventive and flexible handling of the lesson theme and willingness to respond to students’ needs in the course of the lesson.
Alexandra made good use of questioning to ensure that there are some questions to stretch and challenge the most able. She has an excellent understanding of the use of assessment to inform planning having employed a range of both formative and summative strategies in the classroom.
Alexandra is well able to reflect upon her experiences. She has an impressive level of commitment to improvement. She is professional at all times and establishes excellent working relationships with pupils and staff alike. Alexandra contributed substantially to university-based activities. She demonstrated her ability to reflect on a wide range of situations in the university sessions.
Alexandra met all deadlines for assessment and was been a pleasure to teach in university. She is an articulate, intelligent individual and always approaches her work in a positive and cheerful way.
