About Kar-Lei
I have been teaching Mandarin for year 4 - 11 students in a school for 5 years. Now that I have quit teaching full-time I would like to do more private tutoring as I have a more flexible schedule. I know a wide range of teaching strategies and can differentiate for students at any level for a wide variety of purposes. For example, students can choose to learn conversational Chinese, Chinese for business, Chinese for travel... or Chinese for WACE examination. I have all the materials and knowledge to conduct a fun and effective lesson.
Besides Mandarin, I also teach Cantonese and Japanese. Cantonese is my native tongue but I lived in mainland China for 5 years, so I speak fluent Mandarin too. As a person who love language and culture, I also studied Japanese in Japan for 2 years. I have training and some experience in teaching Japanese.

I teach what students want to learn and what is important to them. Students will enjoy the using of the language after different ways of practices. Depending on the student's age, making language learning fun, practical and relevant through useful activities such as role play and songs is what I would like to do.
