About Lyra
I am a passionate Flute tutor with over 17 years of teaching experience. I teach School students, College students, and working professionals who want to learn flute for academics, personal interest, or professional growth. Teaching music allows me to guide students at different stages of their musical journey.
My tutoring approach is simple, patient, and well-structured. I focus on strong fundamentals such as correct breathing, posture, finger technique, tone quality, and rhythm accuracy. I believe learning flute becomes easier when students clearly understand the basics. Lessons are planned based on each student’s level and goals.
Along with flute lessons, I teach music theory, sight reading, rhythm training, scale practice, and ear training. These subjects help students improve their musical understanding and confidence. I also assist students with exam preparation and performance practice.
One of my unique skills is helping students practise correctly and consistently. I provide clear guidance, simple exercises, and regular feedback. My goal is to help students enjoy learning flute and develop a long-lasting love for music.

My teaching approach for flute is based on communication, creativity, and flexibility. I explain techniques clearly and encourage students to communicate openly. Creative warm-ups and musical exercises make learning enjoyable. Lessons are adjusted to suit each student’s learning style and progress.
Flute lessons cover breathing techniques, posture, embouchure, finger coordination, articulation, scales, rhythm, and sight reading. Along with flute, I teach supporting subjects such as music theory, note reading, rhythm training, ear training, and performance skills to help students become well-rounded musicians.
