About Luke
In my previous life I taught English abroad (2 years in Japan) and scuba diving (PADI recreational and technical diving instructor in Philippines and the Egyptian Red Sea), travelled extensively throughout Asia and the Middle East and now I'm a teacher of geography at a successful secondary school in Sussex. I have taught for almost two years, both AQA and EdExcel GCSE courses in schools with proven exam records.

I have a BA in geography from the University of Southampton, a wealth of personal geographical experience and almost two years teaching in two of the best State schools in Sussex. I follow Rosenshine's principles of instruction in my lessons: time spent practising/recalling previous learning followed by clear, concise explanation of new content checked through questioning. This is followed by appropriate practice and application of the learning to exam style questions to check the depth of understanding as well as exam technique. Tailored feedback and constructive criticism then fosters further improvements.
