About Sam

I studied History at Keele University before training as a teacher, and I’ve spent the last few years teaching GCSE and A-Level History in secondary schools. I love the subject and get a real kick out of watching a student go from finding something confusing to genuinely understanding it. I’m currently moving into project management professionally, but tutoring lets me keep doing the part of teaching I enjoyed most: working closely with one student rather than a full classroom.

About the lesson

I’m a qualified teacher (QTS) with several years’ experience teaching GCSE and A-Level History, including leading the rollout of new schemes of work and assessment frameworks. I focus on building genuine understanding and exam technique rather than just covering content, adapting my approach to how each student actually learns. I’m patient, clear, and happy working with students who’ve struggled to find the right fit before.
