About Elli
I understand what examiners are looking for and how to help students express themselves with clarity and confidence, and most importantly how to work smart and not hard. I know that English can sometimes feel overwhelming or abstract, but my goal is to make it feel accessible, interesting and even fun. I tutor because I genuinely enjoy helping students grow—not just in terms of grades, but in their ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and feel proud of what they can achieve. This is an essential skill, whether you choose to continue your journey studying the English language or not. As a Law graduate with a deep understanding of language, analysis, and argument, I offer tailored English tuition for students at GCSE and A Level. I achieved an A in English Language and Literature at GCSE and an A* at A Level, before going on to earn a 2:1 in Law from the University of Bristol. My approach is student-led, meaning I adapt my teaching style to suit the individual needs, goals, and learning pace of each student. I focus on building confidence, sharpening analytical skills, and improving essay writing through interactive discussion and practical exercises. Lessons typically run for one hour, though I’m happy to adjust the timing depending on what works best for the student. Whether we’re unpacking Shakespeare, breaking down unseen poetry, or structuring a powerful essay, I make sure each session is focused, engaging, and relevant to the exam board requirements. I’ve worked with students aged 14–18 and beyond, helping them move from confusion to clarity, and significantly improve their grades. My lessons are ideal for students who want to boost their English performance—whether they’re aiming for top grades, struggling with confidence, or looking to refine their writing for university.
