About Michel
I am BA graduate from the University of Stellenbosch with majors in Philosophy and Afrikaans. I started as a private tutor in 2016 and have been tutoring a wide number of subjects since then to children and adults of all ages. I have two tutoring qualifications as well as sports coaching qualifications.

I believe that we learn new things best when we can link them back to something we already understand. By tying the new information to previously understood concepts we can reinforce not only the place of the new information but the salience of the old information. I also like to gently coach my students to the answer when I can see them struggling, rather than juts giving the answer away. Students must learn to live with failure from time to time, because we learn more from our failures than we do from our successes; and we learn nothing from handouts. Fostering an environment where it is okay to fail so long as you try again has given me great success with both children and adults
