About Rachel
Hello! It's wonderful to meet you.
A year ago I graduated from Durham university with a first in primary education and since then (as an NQT) have been doing supply and tutoring around the north east. I will start in September with my new Year 5 class in the Lake District but throughout I am hoping to continue helping adults to succeed and shine through their writing!
I love my job, which means I work hard.
As well as teaching all primary subjects, my specialism is the English language and writing. I have edited many dissertations, thesis drafts, university applications and job CV's to help with articulacy, grammar, referencing and cohesion (in whatever the subject) and have aided many people in securing the results they want. I have also given people advice and assistance in preparing them for interviews.
I adore reading and teaching English and History but also have a love for the outdoors and for adventure.
I am dedicated to helping you achieve and we can have a canny giggle along the way.

My teaching method is to make you relax and see that you are doing well! I am incredibly positive and know that it's difficult to learn something new and you are amazing for pushing what you know and getting a little extra boost.
I am great at adapting lessons to your needs as well as responding to what you would like to do and creating resources to suit (which I always email!).
I like lessons to be about problem solving, reasoning and following interests not just question and answer and will work to help you understand what you are doing rather than just teaching you the mechanics.
I have worked with nursery children and I have worked with adults and all the shades of people in between. I am passionate and I love it!

Rachel is an excellent teacher. She is creative and considers how to engage all children she works with. She's extremely effective as a teacher, as a result of her genuine love of learning and absolute passion for exciting children to ask questions which will help them learn. All of the children she works with make progress academically and socially as a result of Rachel's commitment. I highly recommend Rachel Cadas as a teacher.
Rachel is a friendly, talented teacher, with a great sense of humour. I worked with Rachel to tutor a variety of school groups over the summer last year and can thoroughly recommend her as a thoughtful and personal tutor.
Rachel's teaching style is engaging and creative, perfect for anyone looking to enjoy their summer as well as continuing their educational journey.
Rachel has been a solid rock for me during my time spent at Newcastle University. I met Rachel at an open day and she offered to spend quality time to help improve my planning as I am training to be a primary teacher. She has tutored me to a very high standard, is patient and offers lots of support! Can't recommend her enough :)
Fabulous tutor! I noticed a massive improvement in my English and reading skills and her patience was amazing throughout. Always brilliant feedback which was helpful and with a perfect level of guidance and appropiate praise. I would highly recommend for all ages and backgrounds!
I had the pleasure of working closely with Rachel in her last teaching placement. A truly amazing hardworking and understanding teacher. Rachel's lessons are exciting, fun and tailored to meet the individual needs of every child in her class . She is passionate about children's learning and very proud of her students celebrating their knowledge, understanding and progress on a daily basis. She encouraged our children to feel proud of their own achievements.
Rachel is one of the most conscientious and resourceful individuals I know. With minimal raw materials and supervisory direction she can produce exciting lesson initiatives that excite the young mind and spark their imagination for education purposes. With a natural flair for English Language and Mathematics, she can also apply herself to a range of other subjects and quickly engenders a sense of worth and possibility in youngsters and a self-belief in their ability to aim high.
Ive know Rachel for 10+ years. She is an amazing, fun and compassionate person who is always there to help anyone with any issue they have.
I 100% recommend her as she will do whatever it takes to help you and make sure you get the results you need.I have known Rachel for more years than I care to remember as a family friend.
She is hardworking, caring, honest and above all loves children.
As a deputy chair of Governors at a local school in Sunderland, I would certainly have no hesitation of recommending Rachel.Highly recommend Rachel. She is a lovely patient young lady who always give 100% to anything and anyone she works with. She is energetic and innovative in equal measure and can be trusted to deliver the desired output.
Rachel is caring, considerate and epitomises what it means to be a good teacher, she is a fountain of knowledge and creativity and is the perfect asset to any school she encounters
