About Simone
I am a South African national and live in Johannesburg. I have a 300-hour online TEFL qualification plus and IELTS Diploma, both of which diplomas entailed writing 60 minute lesson plans and justifying those plans.
I have no experience in teaching as I have just recently qualified. For the past 30 years I worked as a legal secretary. The skills I learned as a legal secretary will help me tremendously to put teaching into practice. I learned to interact with people, to deal with a crises and also, had various deadlines which I always met. I am also very good under pressure. I also had a lot of experience in research. Once we went into lockdown I decided to have a career change and begin a new chapter in my life. So I resigned from my job and “followed my dream”.
In this position as an EFL Teacher, I would seek to use my skills and experience to support students to reach their highest potential. I could use my research skills to develop effective materials for students and my written and verbal communication skills to convey messages in a simple way. I would also be able to put my experience into practice by teaching legal English as well. Having read the job description, I know this would be a role in which I would flourish and could contribute significantly.

I am a kind and patient teacher. My teaching methodology is based entirely on my students' needs. I streamline my lessons to ensure that my students benefit from them. I also like to add a bit of fun and make the lessons more interesting for my students. At the same time, I will point out mistakes in pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, etc.
