About Dannielle
I am a passionate educator who is devoted to meaningful, real-life learning that inspires young people to fulfil their potential. I believe that each person has a unique set of skills and talents and once nurtured and supported they can grow and thrive in any area they choose. I focus on harnessing strengths, and developing skills of creativity, critical thinking, curiosity and collaboration to equip us to meet challenges, find solutions and achieve success. This forms the basis of all my tutoring work whatever the content. The specific skills required in a subject area can be taught more effectively as these foundational elements are developed.
I have 16 years teaching experience in English, Drama and Humanities across Primary and Secondary settings. This includes VCE English. I also set up and delivered a whole-school performing arts program in a school which included yearly school concerts. I am also a certified coach and transformational workshop facilitator.

I have extensive experience teaching English in the Australian school system, specifically the Victorian curriculum. I am passionate about young people discovering the power and importance of communicating athrough language, and aim to inspire them to grow into their potential. I have 3 key focus areas in my sessions
Building confidence - believe that success in anything is largely due to confidence, so my sessions are about building the emotional muscles to become more confident, such as curiosity, courage and creativity.
Skill development - I teach explicit literacy skills across reading, writing and speaking based on my extensive experience as a teacher, both in Secondary and Primary settings.
Meaning and Purpose - I believe that we are more motivated to learn and achieve when we find tasks and challenges meaningful. My work is always set in a context of how these skills can be applied to life in purposeful ways that enhance success.
My sessions go for 45 minutes. We begin with a check-in and overview of the task or need.
We then work through a skill-based session based on whatever content is needed.
We conclude with a short reflection and committed action steps.
I work with young people aged 8 - 18. English, Drama and Humanities are my areas of experience. I work on developing personal and interpersonal skills.
