About Claren
Hi! I recently graduated from the University of Oregon with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude) and degrees in Art History and Media Studies. I’ve worked at a contemporary art gallery, volunteered on the student council of an art museum, and served as the co-director of the associated student research group on campus, where I designed and hosted workshops to help people get involved in undergraduate research. While writing my thesis, I participated in and led peer reviews and I’m also comfortable leading study sessions with creative ways to remember artists, names, dates and movements in context. I would love to share what I know in exciting, accessible ways (and help you not dread talking about abstract expressionism). I’m most well-versed in modern and contemporary movements, but familiar with earlier periods as well.

We can identify areas you would like to work on together—whether this is a understanding a particular art movement, writing formal analysis of an artwork, or just memorization in general. I can also adjust lesson plans to be more structured or more conversational depending on your learning style.
