About Michael
I am an English/ Sociology double-major that graduated from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts last May. I am experienced in tutoring students that often from a variety of different backgrounds (parents, first-generation college students, lower socioeconomic status, etc.) I understand that nobody is really just a student, and I will try to help any student be the best they can be while also honoring their background as well.

I help each student become more able to help themselves; it's not difficult for most tutors to just autocorrect papers, for example, but my job is not to make better papers, it's to make better writers. My focus on teaching will involve small strategies that writers can take home with them to hopefully better their own writing after time and practice. Normally, this will include a focus on writing structure; i.e., what is a topic sentence, what makes a clear thesis, etc.
