About Grace
I often consider myself a lifelong learner, who is always looking for a way to help and learn from others. I have been working in the world of education for the past 5 years while receiving my degree. I have also spent my summers and weeknights as both a camp counselor and nanny/tutor. I am devoted to fostering a connection of respect with those I work with and for. I consider myself a hard-working, creative, and flexible individual who makes an effort to pay attention to the needs of others and cater my teaching to them. I also believe that building the confidence of a student in their own abilities is a necessary step toward growth in academic subjects. I am organized, flexible, and have strong communication skills. Through my time in the world of education, I have been able to learn many strategies to help that will set me apart from other tutors.

I have a firm belief that learning is something that we do every day, and by practicing subjects in a variety of ways we are able to create new connections to the material. I am passionate about finding a strategy that works for each individual learner's needs and developing a positive relationship between the student and teacher. My experience in elementary classrooms has taught me the importance of flexibility, trust, and creating an environment that allows everyone to feel comfortable and understood. As a tutor, I plan to work with the student to find what may help them grow as a learner and how to meet their needs through a collaborative method. I think that developing respect and trust between the two of us will also help to encourage the learning process as well. After a tutoring session, I want my students to leave feeling encouraged and heard, with a solid plan on how to work together to create a positive and beneficial learning experience.
