My teaching methods ordinarily would depend on how the recipient learns best.
In basketball I like to keep things quite basic, light and fun on kids-ages k-3; sessions would consist of fun drills, relay, and team work, form, proper foot work and respect. Kids 4-6 would have practices focused around the fundamentals of shooting form, dripping/ball handling, relaying drills, foot work, intro to zone defence. Grade 6+ will vary depending on the athletes: attitude, coach-ability, and dedication to his or her team.
