About Michael
I began my teaching career back in 1980. During my career, both in the U.S. and overseas, I taught approximately 500 students from perhaps 20 countries. Many of the students spoke no English at the beginning of the school year. Thus it was important for them to know that I was going to help get them through the difficult months of learning a new language. The MOST important job I had as a teacher was to show my students that I cared about them and would do whatever it took to help them to learn new concepts. If they felt that I did indeed care about them, they were willing to put in the time and effort to reach the educational goals I had for each of them.

I am a retired elementary K-4 teacher with 42 years of experience. I am simply looking forward to helping students in the lower grades who may be having difficulty learning to read and write. Most of my experience was at the lower elementary level, Grades K-4. During my years of teaching in the classroom I taught students from many different countries as my wife and I taught in 3 international schools located in Bulgaria, Poland, and Egypt. My “superpower” is my sense of humor and my desire to get to know each student as well as one can online. How I go about teaching each student will depend on their personality and what they need help with.
