About Abigail
Studying the hardest topics first is usually the most efficient way to learn organic chemistry. I prefer to ignore the standard textbook order in favor of building a functional mental map of how molecules react. We will tackle the intricacies of elimination reactions, alcohol transformations, and ether synthesis using the exact methods I teach to MCAT candidates.
My Columbia medical training ensures that every mechanism I draw is anatomically accurate and chemically sound. Pre-med students often struggle with the sheer volume of material, but I break this down into manageable chunks.
You can expect a clear approach that prioritizes your ability to solve problems under time pressure. I provide the tools you need to build confidence before your exam. Let me know if you are ready to start.

Completing an MD degree at the Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons requires a deep grasp of organic chemistry. Sometimes I find that the most complex molecular pathways are actually the ones that reveal the most logic. My 6 years of experience as an instructor helps me distill these mechanisms for IB students, exam candidates, and college chemistry majors. I formerly taught for Kaplan and Princeton Review, which means I know the specific AAMC testing patterns that often trip students up.
Building fluency in amines, SN1 and SN2 reactions, or carbonyl chemistry is the primary goal of my instruction. I hold myself to high standards because I know exactly how much work is required to succeed in this field. It is a long process.
