I have previously acted as a reading mentor at school and at my university providing help with GCSE English. As someone who has had and still has a mentor myself, I understand the need for results-led teaching and working with the student to establish the learning style of the individual.

I believe it is important to listen to the student to understand what their preferred learning style is and what their particular strengths and weaknesses are. Once this is established, the use of feedback, past papers and example essays can be used to practise, compare and contrast.
