About Samantha
My name is Samantha, and I am 25 years old, living in Salthill, Co. Galway. I have three years' experience tutoring Junior and Leaving Certificate French and Spanish students. I have a First Class Honours Degree in French and Spanish from the University of Galway, and I have lived in both France and Spain. My lessons are geared mainly towards students taking the Junior and Leaving Certificate exams, but I am also open to taking adults who would like to learn French and Spanish. I am a passionate linguist, and my dream is to be able to speak multiple languages. I am really passionate about language learning, and I love tutoring, as it gives me the opportunity to support others in their language learning journey. I am very aware that language learning can be sometimes uncomfortable, or even anxiety-inducing. My style of teaching aims to make the classroom a safe space, and is first and foremost student-focused; it's all about meeting each individual student where they are at, and helping them achieve their own personal goals!

Each student has different aims and needs when it comes to language learning, and I build my lesson plans around you. My lessons are 1 hour and I like to incorporate a bit of everything - listening, speaking, writing, and reading. As a long-time language learner, I find variety keeps our brains engaged in the material. It keeps things fresh, while at the same time giving us the opportunity to practice all of our skills. I provide all the notes and materials for you, and I am also available to email during the school week if you are stuck on some homework, or would like me to look over something for you. I also love teaching in a way that is very exam-focused, so if you have hopes of achieving your dream grade, I am the tutor for you!

I think Samantha is an attentive, comprehensive and trustworthy tutor as my French, in particular grammar, has improved drastically since starting grinds with her. Samantha’s classes are always very well structured and organized and her notes are extremely helpful. If you are looking for grinds in any areas of French I would 100% recommend Samantha !!
