About Joe
I am a professional saxophonist performing and teaching in a range of music styles. I studied saxophone at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under John Harle, Christian Forshaw, Nick Moss, Naomi Sullivan and Mick Foster. I perform and teach for several educational bodies, including Live Music Now and Guildhall Young Artists Kings Cross. I also have my own body of private students which I’m excited to grow with you! I play regularly in wedding and function bands, recording sessions, alongside large orchestras and small ensembles like saxophone quartet, and I’m also working on my own solo concert projects. For me, creativity and fun are at the heart of music, and that’s what I strive to bring to our lessons too!

I believe the key to musical progress and success is enjoyment. No matter your stage, whether you're a young person just starting out, working towards grades or an adult dusting off their case, I want you to love the music you make in and out of the lesson. My goal as a teacher is to provide a strong technical foundation for either classical or jazz disciplines, but continue to remain focused on feeding your personal musical passions and meeting your own goals! I ensure I get to know each student's individual preferences and needs in order to nurture a supportive and safe learning environment.
