About Joy N
I am an experienced educator and private tutor with over 15 years of teaching experience in universities and one-to-one learning environments. I hold a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, am trained as a neuroscientist, and currently work in the biotech sector, where clear communication, critical thinking, and strong writing skills are essential.
Alongside my scientific background, I have extensive experience helping students develop their English skills, particularly in academic writing, reading comprehension, analysis, and exam preparation. I can also support students studying IB English.
My teaching style is patient, professional, and tailored to each student. I focus on making complex ideas clear, helping students improve their technique, and creating a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

I offer structured, supportive English lessons tailored to each student’s goals, level, and learning style. I can help with reading comprehension, essay writing, literary analysis, grammar, vocabulary, exam preparation, and confidence in written and spoken English.
My approach is clear and practical. I break down challenging texts, writing tasks, and assessment criteria into manageable steps, helping students understand not only what to improve, but how to improve it. I also support students preparing for IB English.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although this can be adapted depending on the student’s needs. I work with school students, university students, and adult learners.
