About Myles
I am a current Bachelor of Commerce student at the University of Sydney, majoring in Finance and Accounting. I completed the International Baccalaureate at Trinity Grammar School in 2025, achieving a score of 41/45 and a 97.80 ATAR, including Band 7s in the majority of my subjects.
Having recently completed the IB myself, I understand how demanding it can be to balance multiple subjects, assessments, and exams alongside commitments outside of school. Throughout high school, I was heavily involved in high-level basketball, which meant managing a busy schedule of training, games, travel, and recovery alongside my studies. This experience taught me the importance of being organized, using my time efficiently, and focusing on what actually makes a difference.
I bring this same mindset to my tutoring. I aim to create a friendly, supportive, and personalized learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through challenges without feeling judged. I understand that every student is different, and I enjoy adapting my approach to suit their individual needs, whether they are looking to push towards the highest marks or simply build greater confidence and consistency in their studies.
Outside of academics, I am passionate about sport, business, and personal development. I believe that academic success should complement a student's interests and ambitions rather than come at the expense of them. My goal as a tutor is therefore not only to help students improve their results, but to give them the confidence, strategies, and independence to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

My approach to tutoring is highly personalized, with a focus on helping students develop both a strong understanding of their subjects and the skills needed to translate that knowledge into high marks. I begin by identifying each student's strengths, weaknesses, and goals, then structure lessons around the areas where they can make the greatest improvement.
I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, exam-style questions, and detailed feedback. For essay-based subjects, I place particular emphasis on developing strong arguments, responding directly to questions, using evidence effectively, and understanding what is required to reach the higher mark bands. I also provide personalized homework and study strategies where appropriate, allowing students to consolidate their learning between lessons.
Lessons are typically 1–2 hours, depending on the student's age, subject, and individual requirements. I am flexible with lesson structure and adapt the pace and content according to the student.
