About Liam
My name is Liam and I want to teach because of my own Modern Studies teacher. When I was in high school, I got to my final year not knowing what I wanted to do. I wasn't a bad or an exceptional student, I was totally middle of the road. I then decided to take Modern Studies after having not taken it for a year and it changed the entire trajectory of my life. The way my teacher taught completely inspired me because he spoke to kids like me who were the educational grey children, the ones who didn't stand out either way. I want to do that for people, I want to spot and see the people who feel they don't stand out and show them how great they can be.

My approach is calm, patient, and simple. I believe history should be interesting and easy to understand, so I focus on explaining topics in a way that anyone can follow. Whether you’re feeling lost with a unit or just need things broken down more clearly, I tailor each lesson to what you need. I have a degree in History and Politics and I’ve worked in high schools as a PSA and have supported students from S1 all the way to Higher level as well as teaching classes. That experience helps me recognise where students typically get stuck, and how to build confidence step by step. Lessons can be whatever you need: A clear, straightforward run-through of a topic Support with understanding and confidence Guided revision Full exam preparation with structure, technique, and practice questions I keep the environment relaxed and pressure-free, while still making solid progress every session. By the end of each lesson, you’ll know exactly what we covered, where you’ve improved, and what we’ll focus on next. My goal is simple: help you understand the subject, enjoy it more, and feel confident going into assessments or exams.
