About Rebecca
I grew up in a non Welsh speaking family and attended English medium primary and secondary schools. My love for Welsh really started while studying A Level Welsh, and I went on to study Welsh Second Language at Swansea University, gaining a first class honours. I’ve always wanted to teach so went straight on to study PGCE Secondary, and have taught in the same high school in Cardiff since graduating.
In 2018 I won the Urdd Learner of the Year award.
I live with my husband, who is English and learning Welsh, and my young daughter, who I plan to send to Welsh medium education.

As a second language learner myself, I fully understand the difficulties and obstacles in learning Welsh as a second language.
I have vast experience in secondary school teaching, as well as excellent knowledge of WJEC GCSE and A Level specifications for Welsh second language.
I will very much tailor lessons to the individual needs of each student, and work with them to understand how to overcome any difficulties. I love speaking and learning Welsh and hope to pass that love on to any of my students.
