About Krzysztof
I'm a second year civil engineering student at the University of Surrey. Despite this, I was never a stand out, highly talented maths student in any regard. No one in my secondary school would ever think that I would become a civil engineering student. Yet here I am! Getting around 80% on all my assessments.
My main strength was my attitude towards learning. I spent much of my free time doing practice questions, past exam papers, and anything else that I could get my hands on. Over time, I mastered the art of tackling challenging concepts by breaking them down one single step at a time. I became so comfortable with this method that I naturally began helping my peers do the same, a passion for teaching that has stuck with me to this day.
And so I still remember when the GCSE shadow was looming over me, but more importantly how I managed to become successful in the end, achieving grade 8 and 9 on practice papers and grade 7 on my final exam, on a predicted grade 4.

KEY INFORMATION: Lesson length will be between one and two hours, with brain breaks in between. The first lesson will be focused on me teaching, seeing if all parties concerned are happy, before making a more long term plan.
TEACHING APPROACH: I teach in a way that divides a complicated concept or question into the smallest possible steps, explaining each step thoroughly, setting out the work in a neat and logical way, and making sure it was all understood, before moving onto the next step. Being a person who primarily learns through asking truck loads of questions, I highly encourage the very same from my students! Another very important thing for me is practice, from simple questions to past papers, that will also be a big part of my lessons. After all, practice makes perfect! Especially for maths.
IMPORTANCE OF INDIVIDUALISM: I recognize that every student is unique, so my main priority will be to get to know the student from the academic side as well as possible. Whether they want worked examples from me, or if they want to get along quietly with past papers, and have me for when they get stuck. I'm very flexible!
IF YOUR INTERESTED, please message me what year the student is in, the exam board, if they are aiming to do higher or foundation Maths, and any key topics or question types that are an issue (if there are any). Any academic material such as past tests and homework's or questions that caused trouble, that I can get during the lesson will be much appreciated!
