About Amanda-Kara
I am pursuing a Master's degree in English literature with the goal of teaching at the junior college level. As a native English speaker, I can assist with difficulties pertaining to reading comprehension, writing skills and even pronunciation. I have hands-on experience volunteering in elementary classrooms with children at all levels of English comprehension.

My approach to tutoring varies based on the needs of the student. For example, in my experience with small children who are new to the English language, I have found that patience and understanding are key to fostering confidence in early learners. Similarly, I try to expand on the positives when assisting older students and peers with their essay-writing skills. As a part-time magazine editor, I focus on constructive feedback and making sure the writer understands why I make the suggestions that I do.
