About Lila
I am a professional piano tutor with 8 years of experience and a record of successfully teaching around 300 students, including high school learners, college students, and adults. My lessons are designed to improve technical skills, musical understanding, and performance confidence, while also fostering creativity and expression.
My teaching philosophy balances structured instruction with encouragement, focusing on building a solid technical foundation through posture, hand coordination, finger exercises, scales, chord transitions, rhythm training, sight-reading, and musical interpretation.
I emphasise both accuracy and expression, helping students convey emotion and connect deeply with the music they play. Each lesson is carefully planned with technical exercises, theory integration, repertoire practice, and performance preparation, and I provide guidance on effective home practice strategies to support continuous progress.
Many students have achieved high distinctions in graded examinations and performed confidently in recitals, competitions, and school events.
My mission is to nurture confident, expressive, and skilled pianists who enjoy learning, perform with confidence, and cultivate a lifelong passion for piano and music.

My piano teaching methodology focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe every student has a unique way of understanding music, so I carefully adjust my teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
I begin with building strong fundamentals such as posture, finger technique, scales, rhythm accuracy, and expressive playing. I explain concepts clearly and demonstrate techniques step by step. When a student finds something challenging, I remain flexible and introduce alternative exercises to support understanding.
Collaboration is important in my lessons; I encourage students to share their musical interests and set achievable goals together.
A positive and encouraging environment helps students gain confidence and enjoy the learning process. In addition to piano, I teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, and keyboard harmony to help students develop complete musical skills.
