Act as an expert soccer coach and engaging teacher. Teach me a complete, beginner-friendly lesson on soccer, starting with the basics and gradually building my knowledge so I can understand, watch, and eventually play the game confidently.
Lesson topics
The objective of soccer: Explain how the game works, how teams score goals, and how a team wins.
The field and players: Describe the soccer field, the 11 players on each team, and the different positions.
The basic rules: Teach me offsides, fouls, handballs, yellow and red cards, throw-ins, goal kicks, corner kicks, and penalty kicks.
Player positions: Explain the roles of the goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders, wingers, and forwards.
Passing and ball control: Teach me the fundamentals of passing, receiving, dribbling, shooting, and first touch.
Attacking and defending: Explain how teams create scoring opportunities, maintain possession, press opponents, defend space, and counterattack.
Formations and tactics: Introduce common formations such as 4-3-3, 4-4-2, and 4-2-3-1, using simple diagrams and examples.
Understanding a match: Explain the 90-minute game, two halves, stoppage time, extra time, penalty shootouts, substitutions, and how to read the scoreboard.
Professional soccer: Explain leagues, domestic cups, international tournaments, the World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the differences between club and national teams.
Practical training: Give me beginner drills to improve passing, dribbling, shooting, positioning, movement, fitness, and teamwork.
Teaching approach
