About Matthew
I am a lifelong learner -- the son of two teachers -- who has been interested in computer science since elementary school. I made my career in computer science and have more than a decade of experience in the field with a wide range of languages and platforms. I've always had a knack and a love for explaining technology to the experienced and layperson alike. Good answers and good discussion often lead to more questions solved than just the first, and that's what I aim for.

I love helping collegiate-level students learn principles of computer science by providing them with both a context of how a concept was developed and fits into the overall computer science discipline, as well as practical applications they may see in the world today. I am familiar with C/C++, C# .NET, Java, Javascript, Linux server admin, cybersecurity, and many aspects of computer science theory. I will guide you through hand-drawn diagrams, code samples, and practice examples, where applicable. Throughout a session, I want to foster as much 2-way communication as possible and let you know that questions are always welcome!
