About Ximena

A caffeinated Marketing undergrad, navigating full-time studies and extracurricular activities. An international upbringing has facilitated my ability to learn about different cultures and customs, as well as discover my passion for languages. Currently fluent in Spanish, English, Portuguese and hopefully French soon.

About the lesson

¡Hola! My name is Ximena, and hopefully, I'll be (fingers crossed) your next Spanish tutor.

My teaching methodology focuses on a cognitive, student-centred approach. I aim to teach my students how to be comfortable speaking Spanish, by emphasizing fluency and less on accuracy, as I believe mistakes are integral in the process of learning a new language. My lesson plan varies depending on each individual's proficiency level but typically focuses on learning how to actively communicate in a conversation. In a lesson, you should expect to read a small text out loud, followed by a PowerPoint presentation on the day's learning objective, and ending with a two-on-two conversation.

Being a young, native Spanish speaker allows me to not only teach Spanish on an 'academic' basis but in a social context as well, setting me apart from other tutors.

My lessons are for anyone interested in learning how to speak, write and express themselves in Spanish.

Ximena is a detail-oriented Spanish native speaker who will make sure you understand clearly how to properly speak and write in Spanish. Not only will she make the experience of learning the language fun and creative but will make you feel comfortable with her easy going personality and kindness. She is a very reliable and determined person who will make sure you exponentially increase your capacity and level of Spanish. I definitely recommend her as a tutor as you get the chance to learn a new language but also you get to meet an incredible person and human being.
