About Laura
I have a bachelors degree in education and special education. My masters is in literacy and it is how I obtained my reading specialist certificate in 2017. I am certified in Orton-Gillingham. This is a program specifically for those with dyslexia. I have 2 children. My daughter has autism, adhd, and bipolar disorder. My son has adhd and dyslexia. Between both of my children, as well as teaching special education for 10 years, I am well versed in multiple areas of need.

Hello! I have been a special education teacher for 10 years. My time teaching has been in daily live virtual classroom settings. I have been tutoring for 7 years. I focus on literacy and writing skills, but I have also tutored in writing and social studies/civics. I have experience tutoring kids K-12. I like to keep my sessions engaging and fun. I have an extensive background in dyslexia, and it is something I am extremely passionate about. Myself and my son both have dyslexia and I know first hand how it interacts with other disabilities.
