About Sara
Hello! Do you have time at home when you would like to be improving your English from the luxury of your webcam on your laptop or mobile from your very own sofa or desk? Then, I can help! I have over 20 years’ experience teaching English as a Foreign Language, teaching all levels, all ages, all types of English, including General/ Academic/ Business English. My story: I graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA Joint Honours degree in French and German, spending one year as part of the course teaching English in France. Straight after graduating, I had an amazing year teaching English in Japan on the prestigious JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme. I then worked in Sales and Marketing for a number of years; my last job was Product Marketing Manager for Pret A Manger in London. I then decided I wanted to return to TEFL (Teaching English as
Foreign Language) and gained the main TEFL qualification, the Cambridge University CELTA (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults), at International House in London. This was over 20 years ago, and I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language ever since. My first year of teaching was teaching Business English at the Business English School of the world's largest language school in London. I then set up my own Business English teaching company, delivering in-house
and private 1:1 and small group lessons, regularly each week, including to au-pairs, as well as intensive one-week courses to business professionals. I also now possess the specialist Business English teaching qualification, UK English CIBET (Certificate for International Business English Teaching). I have also spent the last ten years teaching English at a boys' prep school, and more recently also at a local language school. I have an excellent success rate helping learners pass the Cambridge exams (CPE, CAE, FCE, PET, KET). So, you will read that I really have taught just about all types of English to just about all types of people for a long time now, and this is why I believe I should be well-placed to help you. I will help you improve your English in a friendly but professional, detailed but interesting, and even fun (!) manner. I will adjust my teaching style to suit your learning style. Ordinarily, online and face-to-face lessons are available. Face-to-face lessons are ordinarily offered at a slight premium to online due to travel time and cost.
