About Heena
I teach part time on evenings and weekends and have been for 6+ years. I provide 1:1 and group tuition in 11+ and SAT's Maths and English.
11+: Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and test preparation.
SAT's: Maths, English and test preparation.
I went to an all girls grammar school myself after passing my 11+ exams.
I am an LLB Law graduate (2:1) with successful management/directorship roles throughout the last 6 years of my career.
I previously set up a tuition centre to prepare students for 11+ and SAT's however since COVID-19 I have no longer been able to run this.
I have taught over 50 students (11+), 42 of which have successfully passed their 11+ entrance exams. I specialise in 11+ covering maths, english, creative writing, vr and nvr as well as test preparation.
All of my teaching experience is with a well-known national tuition agency who provide 1:1 tuition at home. I have been voted Tutor of the Year 4 years in a row by parents of my students and have always had positive feedback regarding my knowledge, approach, rapport and mentoring of my students.
I am happy to provide extensive positive reviews and feedback from past students and their parents.
I enjoy working with young children and seeing them grow their skills and confidence. I build great relationships with all of my students and find they take to me very well, having respectful yet friendly and trusting relationships.
I am in contact with a lot of my past students and their families and enjoy seeing their progression into secondary schools etc. Teaching is a very rewarding job.

I initially assess each child to gage an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses. I will then plan lessons accordingly to this in order to build their knowledge around topics and most importantly build their confidence and speed. I assign assessments for homework each week (minimum 2) which are marked and any challenges/incorrect answers are discussed together during the next session. I also work on exam preparation such as confidence building, timing, tips and tricks as well as teaching the child what the examiner is looking for so we can tailor our answers to what is expected of us. I also liase with parents after each and every lesson to give feedback and tips and keep them updated on progress.

Details
As we are in a lockdown, online tuition is all I am able to provide. I prefer to teach students 1:1 as they benefit the most, however I am open to teaching 2 students in one online session ONLY if they are at the same/similar academic levels. If there will be 2 students per session my hourly rate will be slightly higher, this can be discussed before going forward.
