About Lexi
Hi, I’m Lexi, and I’m passionate about helping children with autism and other special needs discover their unique strengths and reach their full potential. My journey in education began with a deep interest in psychology and human behavior, which led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in special needs and autism. Currently, I’m pursuing a master’s degree to further expand my knowledge and skillset. I’ve had the privilege of working as a Registered Behavioral Technician, where I’ve had hands-on experience applying evidence-based techniques to support children in various settings. I firmly believe that every child learns in their own way, and my goal as a tutor is to provide an individualized approach that meets each student’s specific needs, fostering both academic and personal growth. Outside of tutoring, I love spending time engaging in outdoor activities, hanging out with friends, baking, and traveling. I find that having a balance between work and personal time helps me stay refreshed and motivated to be the best tutor I can be for my students. I’m excited to work with you and your child, and I look forward to partnering together to make a meaningful difference in their educational journey!

As an experienced Autism Tutor and Registered Behavioral Technician, I specialize in helping children with autism, ADD, and other special needs thrive in their academic journey. With a bachelor's degree in psychology and a concentration in special needs, along with a master's degree in progress, I combine professional expertise with a passion for empowering students to reach their full potential.
My Teaching Approach & Techniques
I believe every child has unique strengths and learning styles. My approach is grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, which are tailored to each child's needs. I use positive reinforcement, individualized strategies, and structured learning to encourage independence and growth. My sessions are interactive and flexible, ensuring students remain engaged and motivated.
In addition to behavioral techniques, I integrate visual supports, sensory breaks, and social skills training as part of my approach. By breaking complex tasks into manageable steps and providing clear instructions, I help children build confidence and mastery.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson is customized to meet the student’s needs and goals, focusing on building both academic skills and personal growth. Here’s what a typical lesson might include:
Warm-Up Activity – Engaging the child with a fun, sensory-friendly activity to transition into the session.
Targeted Academic Instruction – Focused on reading, math, or social skills, depending on the child’s needs. I may use visual aids, interactive tools, or technology to enhance learning.
Behavioral Skills Development – Reinforcing positive behaviors and using techniques like prompting and shaping to build new skills.
Review & Feedback – Offering positive reinforcement and summarizing key points for the child and caregiver, ensuring clear communication on progress.
What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart as a tutor is my commitment to both academic achievement and emotional well-being. I not only focus on core academic subjects but also teach crucial life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and self-regulation. I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to learn and grow at their own pace. With my background in psychology and special needs, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and adapting my approach to each child's needs.
Who the Lessons Are For
My tutoring services are designed for children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental challenges. I work with students at various levels, from early childhood through middle school, and provide tailored support for academic subjects such as reading, math, and writing. My lessons are ideal for children who may require one-on-one attention, customized learning strategies, or behavioral support to excel in a classroom or home environment.
Whether you’re looking for help with homework, building social skills, or managing classroom behavior, I’m here to provide the guidance and support your child needs to succeed.
