Hi there! I'm Lisa, your friendly college prep pal, here to help you navigate the college admissions process.
When I was in your shoes over 10 years, I was spellbound by the opportunity to start fresh, discover my passion, and begin my newfound sense of independence in college. The only thing standing between me and college was the admission process itself...
I took it upon myself to research everything there is to know about the college application process and I decided that I would make my essay the best it could be. I crafted, cut, rewrote, reworked, and turned my essay inside out until it was something great—a mirror, that represented the best of who I was inside for all to see. In my acceptance letters, colleges wrote specifically that my essay is what set me apart from the rest of the applicants. I want to help you achieve the same.
I attended a top 40 liberal arts college, embarked on a major and double minor, won several academic awards, and landed a job at Spotify where I manage editorial content for an educational blog for podcast creators. Pretty cool, right?
All of that is to say: I love creative writing, weaving stories, and editing them so they can shine and represent you in the best way possible. I hope we can work together!

Just as soon as you feel like you're in the high school groove, then BAM—college admission preparation hits.
It can feel like a stressful, uncertain, competitive, and an altogether existential time. With my person-centered, storytelling-focused teaching methods, we will work together to achieve the following goals:
- Identify your strengths, passions, values, and goals
- Craft your college application short-list based on the above
- Gage the essay requirements for each of your applications
- Hone in on your unique qualities, stories, and experiences
- Discuss the architecture of what makes a good story
- Determine your essay topic
- Allow space to free-write on the topic
- Create a solid essay outline
- Break up intro, body, and conclusion writing into manageable sections
- Review what is working and what needs improvement
- Cycle through multiple drafts until we land on the winning essay
I can provide support on both the Common App essays, prompt-specific essays, editing and feedback, spoken college interview prep, and more depending on individual needs.
Lessons are for college Juniors and Seniors who want their college admissions essay and overall application to stand out from the rest.
